Assistant Clinical Director, Full-Time

Location: Mulmur, and Orillia, Ontario

Reports to: Clinical Director

Salary: $100,000-$105,000/year

Start Date: December 2024

The ideal candidate will be a strong Clinician with proven leadership skills. They will collaborate with a team of psychotherapists to deliver high quality care, play a key role in overseeing clinical operations, and staff development. Responsibilities (including, but are not limited to):

  • Participate as a senior member of the Clinical Team in the development and delivery of therapeutic programs, policies and procedures that support the Institute’s mission, vision and values.
  • Provide Clinical leadership and promote a learning culture to a team of psychotherapists, and their staff which includes coaching, development, resource support, and conflict resolution.
  • Take a direct leadership role in the provision of therapeutic education, ex clinical orientation, development and coordination of psychoeducational programming for students and their families.
  • Provide individual and group therapy to students and their families as may be needed to support psychotherapists.
  • Ensure the safety, both physical and emotional of the students, advising/managing and being an escalation resource for crisis situation as necessary
  • Oversee our clinical and youth counsellor placement program by promoting and increasing our profile with colleges and universities, ensuring a valuable practicum experience for students, while balancing the needs of our PRI program.
  • Ensure the documentation and delivery of individual therapeutic treatment/discharge plans, home contracts, for individual students and their families are completed
  • Ensure the appropriate, accurate and timely flow of reports and communication with students and families, team staff, and PRI community as necessary
  • Oversee the clinical and programming operations of our Transition House which includes staff management, student movement, family communication and house budget.
  • Under the guidance of the Clinical Director, ensures the clinical program has appropriate procedures to ensure compliance with mandated legislation and professional colleges
  • Participate in an on-call rotation that involves providing Clinical guidance to staff/students and determining threshold for escalation. Be available as an escalation resource if on call is not available or able to support the request.
  • Provide coverage for the Clinical Director when needed.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Graduate degree in a relevant therapeutic field
  • Registration with a relevant professional association
  • Minimum of 5 years experience providing individual and group therapy, with at least 3 years in live in treatment facility.
  • Experience in working with adolescents, addictions and mental health issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of Relational, Systemic, and Experiential approaches to working with youth and their families
  • Proven experience in managing a team of professionals
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated track record of working effectively within multi disciplinary work environment
  • Proven ability to make and sustain excellent interpersonal relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Clear certification of Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check is required
  • Experience in outdoor therapeutic programming considered an asset
