Fees
Pine River is a not-for-profit, fee-for-service program. We receive funding support from the Ontario Ministry of Health.
Upon admission, $1,000 is due from families funded by the Ministry of Health, for damage deposit and for trust accounts (e.g., for hygiene needs, outings, etc). Any unused amount will be refunded.
Upon admission, $17,750 is due from families paying privately:
- $1,000 combination of damage deposit and trust account (e.g., for hygiene needs, outings, etc.) Any unused amount will be refunded
- $14,250 (30 days’ initial treatment fees) +
- $2,500 admission deposit (refundable after one month in the program)
The Ministry of Health provides financial support for Ontario adolescents who qualify for treatment at Pine River Institute. Families are responsible for a monthly fee of $325. This fee covers program costs not covered by our government funding, for example, parent retreats, transportation, and activity fees.
Our non-funded beds are available at the rate of $475/day, including the day of admission and the day of discharge.
Aftercare
The monthly Aftercare fee is $325.
Bursary Assistance Program
Pine River has always been committed to ensuring that every young person in need can access the full range of care they need at Pine River, regardless of their family’s financial situation. Since opening in 2006, no youth or family has ever been denied access to a MOH funded treatment bed, or to full program participation because they couldn’t afford supplemental program fees, aftercare fees, or other fees. Bursaries from Pine River for families in need help ensure that any youth can access Pine River’s life-saving care, regardless of their family’s financial situation.
