Reporting to– Hr Director
Pine River Institute is a unique treatment center for youth 13 to 19 years of age struggling with substance abuse and addictive behaviours. Our program encompasses four seamless phases that include Outdoor Leadership Experience, Live In, Transition, and Aftercare; which create opportunities for youth to engage in a focused transformation of therapy, education, recreation, life skills, alongside a parental/caregiver parallel process.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Processing accurate end to end payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Ensure reporting and compliance with CRA, WSIB, and file all statutory remittances
- Prepare records of employment and year end documentation
- Respond to payroll inquiries
- Prepare job posting, review resumes and coordinate interviews
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes; including new employee documentation, benefits administration, training enrollment, certifications, and completion
- Administer and respond to inquiries relating to HR policies and Ontario employment standards act
- Maintain employee files and keep HRIS system up to date
- Administer employee leave of absence programs
- Prepare relevant HR reporting on quarterly/annual basis, as needed.
- Assist in ad-hoc HR projects
- Assist in planning employee recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and organizational events.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Encourage and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in relevant field-Business Administration/ Human Resources
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or working toward certification is considered an asset.A minimum of 3 years’ human resource experience with additional payroll experience required
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel & PowerPoint is ideal
- Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems
- Strong understanding of employment legislation
- Proven ability to build relationships
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience in a nonprofit organization, alongside multi-disciplinary professionals considered an asset
- Proven ability to work in a highly organized manner where accuracy, flexibility, urgency, confidentiality are required
