Cole Winegarden

Nurse

JOINED PINE RIVER:

Cole began his nursing career in Thunder Bay, working on an orthopaedic and general surgery unit. He later moved into a charge nurse role, where he worked for nearly five years. He then relocated to Hamilton to work on a trauma unit, supporting care in both a monitored step-down unit and as a charge nurse.

After building strong clinical experience in hospital settings, Cole brought his skills to Pine River Institute. Since joining PRI, he has helped update the nursing process to support Accreditation Canada standards, travelled into Algonquin to administer care in the field, and received the Nancy Hamm Award, as voted by his colleagues.

Outside of his work at Pine River, Cole lives with his family in the countryside in a tiny house on wheels. He enjoys learning about human pathophysiology and biohacking, staying active through physical fitness, and exploring science fiction.
