Program in Photos Each student's journey at Pine River starts with time in our Outdoor Leadership Experience (OLE)OLE staff support students during the outdoor leadership portion of the programCanoeing and portaging are part of the OLE portion of the program three seasons a year.OLE students camp in Algonquin provincial park in the summer monthsJake, the clinician for our OLE program talks to some new studentsThe OLE program runs through all seasons, each one bringing its own unique challenges and triumphs.After OLE, students move to our magnificent campus which is situated on 200 acres just outside of Shelburne, Ontario The main campus building houses some dorm rooms, our dining hall, staff offices and common areas for the students.Moffat House is our new dormitory which opened in 2021.No matter which room you are in, nature and the outdoors surrounds life at Pine River.While at Pine River, students and their family engage in regular therapy sessions.One of the dorm rooms in our Moffat House, where up to four students share accomodations.There is plenty of time for socializing in our many common areas around campus.Chef Ron and his staff prepare three healthy meals a day plus snacks in our state of the art Dining Hall.Clinical Director Victoria Creighton shows some students one of her horses as part of the farm program at Pine RiverThe farm program allows students to spend time caring for animals and learning responsibility.Sports are an integral part of outdoor programming.All students enjoy daily physical activities such as basketball, hockey, soccer, snowshoeing, skiing and hiking.Pine River boasts miles of trails for skiing, hiking and snowshoeing.We have a small gym on site for those who enjoy working out.Students playing music in our Minden Room at main campus.The equine therapy program is just one of the activities our students participate inEach student attends classes daily on campus, working towards their OSSD.Teachers work with students to develop a personalized curriculum.After the residential phase of the program is complete, students transition to start taking the lessons home. We remain supportive of our families after a student leaves campus.
