WEBINARS
I’ve already notice a difference in how I communicate with her."
We offer free webinars and affordable workshops for schools, communities, and workplaces—each designed to share practical tools and proven strategies that support youth mental wellness. Grounded in our evidence-based therapeutic model, these sessions reflect years of rigorous research and evaluation.

The number of youth struggling with their mental health in Ontario is on the rise. From children to teens, building emotional resilience is vital to being engaged at home, with their peers, and at school. These webinars are designed to support parents, caregivers, and educators based on Pine River Institute’s evidence-based practices that are founded in years of research and evaluation.
We have delivered hundreds of webinars to thousands of participants, across topics that include teen: addiction, vaping, screen time, emotional development, resilience, anxiety, and more.
Our webinars are led by Amanda Lamb, a registered Relational Psychotherapist who has worked with vulnerable youth and their families at Pine River for more than a dozen years.

Webinar Topics

Gaming and Social Media
Understand the impact of excessive screen time and gaming on children’s development and well-being. Learn practical strategies to set healthy boundaries, foster balanced technology use, and support your child in maintaining a positive relationship with digital media.

Online relationships and crucial conversations
More kids are finding connections online, and for many parents this seems terrifying. Learn how to talk with your child about their online relationships even when they seem to be the digital experts.

Child Emotional Development
How do children and teens mature, and how can it impact their mental health? Learn how Pine River looks at social and emotional development as a key indicator of mental health.

Worry or Anxiety?
Understand what is normal (feelings of concern or worry) and when your teen may need to get more help (anxiety). Learn how to talk to your child about their emotions without enabling harmful behaviour.

School Avoidance
More and more teens are struggling to stay engaged and present in school. What motivates young people to attend and how can parents or caregivers help?

Building our ‘Stretch’ Zone
Understanding our own comfort, stretch, and panic zones, and helping our teens and children recognize theirs, builds long-term resilience and communication. This concept guides parents and caregivers on when to push their kids and when to provide safety through connection.
