CLINICAL
TRAINING
Our clinical training is for clinicians, social workers, child and youth workers, and frontline staff. It is grounded in our evidence-based knowledge that shows that integrating families into youth addiction and mental health treatment leads to better outcomes.

What You Will Learn
Our clinical training program is delivered over the course of 3 days and has 7 modules. You will come away from our clinical training with new tools that will help you to:
- Equip families with practical skills for healthy engagement
- Foster healthy communication
- Support healthy attachment within a family system
- Support families while maintaining confidentiality

Participation in this workshop allows OAMHP members to apply 18 hours (CECs) towards their required continuing education hours.

Why it is Valuable
Our research and evaluation team tracks the health and behaviour of youth and their families to understand what does and doesn’t work; from first contact, through treatment, and for several years after they’ve graduated the program.
After our program, Pine River youth reduced their substance use, criminality and hospitalizations, and experienced improved mental health, school and work engagement and family functioning. We report these results every year in our Annual Evaluation Report.
To share our tools and strategies, we created our clinical training program for clinicians and agency staff to help more youth regain mental wellness and develop the tools they need to manage addictive behaviours.

“Pine River is commended for broadly and publicly reporting on its research and quality outcomes. The organization is commended for its ongoing contributions to the body of knowledge on youth addictions and mental health.”
